@xarmitageiii 3D tvs that dont require the use of glasses will be available on 2020. Wanna wait for them? And let´s not talk about the cost.

I’ve been wait for this TV since it was announced I’ve save the money and have been waiting on the edge of my seat, but of course as time has passed new tech has come out and while this tv is still on the edge I’ve been seeing the start of 3D tvs that do not require the use of glasses I have a feeling that is going to be the big push at next years CES. but still $3,500.00 for six feet of screen is amazing.

I read on Gizmodo that this set goes for $3,500. A must have. Contrast is 10,000,000:1. My old Vizio Lcd 52″ is 3 years old and is like new. Maybe is not the better image quality and is bulky but do the job. This 3 inch deep will start a real price battle. Hurry up LCD companies and drop your prices or you will pay the consequences. .

@ToxicFrog, “and vizio is no better than the rest of them, they’re here too with their 3d technology”. In other words, she’s only joking.

@GeminiAzules He means a media box to play back things like mp4′s, or streaming video.

@sro680 Well I wanted to buy this set, so I did a lot of reading, including a several customer satisfaction reviews of the most Trouble Free TV’s as of March 2010, and Vizio was at the top with Sony, Sharp, LG – Google “Who Manufactures the most trouble free television sets?”. They are listed as also having good service. So point is you’re not only wrong, but just unlucky.

If the other manufacturers don’t compete, I don’t see anyone buying the 50-55″ stuff when this 72 is the same price (or even cheaper in most cases).

  15. ToxicFrog says:

I don’t usually say this, but this is the one to have, and I will, when it comes out. At that price and with those features (480 LED zones, 3D and wirelessHDMI, fuq the widgets), this is the mecca of an affordable home theater screen.

He means you don’t need an external wifi card/media box like the newer Toshibas to access the internet; it’s built into the Vizio. But clearly you need a wifi internet connection at home for the TV to connect to. The TV doesn’t have a 3g card, and your cable provider isn’t going to feed the internet to your TV, so you need a wireless base station at home.

0:14 “Vizio in no better than the rest of them…..”
    wtf

  18. sro680 says:

Sorry for the long and badly written comment. The 500 character limit got me.

  19. sro680 says:

I own Vizio 42 LCD. ABSOLUTE CRAP! After 17 months it died. No picture. Picture was good while it lasted. But, the point is it didn’t last.
Contacted customer service and the person on the other end was rude at best. Response was you are out of luck BC the 1yr warranty is up. So, I can only expect a $1000 dollar TV to last a year? Her response is you can’t have any expectation on how long electronics will last. Well, I have two TVs that are 18 and 15 yrs old and they function perfectly.

  20. GeminiAzules says:

first he says you dont need a box.. then he goes back saying you need to have internet in the house.. which means somewhere you need a box of some sort.
